Biography

Attended Jugla Secondary School and Riga College of Applied Art (the present Secondary School of Design and Art) and is a graduate of the Graphic Art Department of the Latvian Academy of Art. She has obtained a Master’s Degree in Art (2002). As a computer graphic artist, she has collaborated with the publishers Pētergailis, Valters un Rapa, Jāņa Rozes apgāds, Jura apgāds and Nordik, creating illustrations and cover designs for various publications. She has designed many Latvian language textbooks, the volume “The Ghost of the Nobles” Cemetery: 150 Old and New Ghost, Joke and Horror Stories” (Kungu kapsētas spoks: 150 jauni un veci spoku, joku un šausmu stāsti. Compiled by M. Rungulis. R.: Pētergailis, 2005), the book “Franklin”s Hat” by J. Zvirgzdiņš (Franklina cepure. R.: Pētergailis, 2006) and other works. She participated in the 2nd Tallinn Illustration Triennial in 2006.

Stukle-Zuitiņa has been nominated for the Annual Prize for Book Publishing in 2002 for the book “The Water Ņuks” (Ūdensņuks. Viks. R.: Pētergailis, 2002). In 2003 she was nominated for the book “Mums, Dads and Others” (Mammas, tēti un citi. M. Cielēna. R.: Jāņa Rozes apgāds, 2003) and in 2004 for the book “BD–5J: the Tale of the Little Airplane” (BD–5J: pasaka par mazo lidmašīnu. Viks. R.: Pētergailis, 2004).
